TheCall Launches God’s Summer of Love Tour
After participating in a 12-hour prayer for the nation during Saturday’s TheCall event in Nashville, Tenn., hundreds of young people plan to take a 35-day road trip to California as part of what is being called God’s Summer of Love Tour.
“We’ve worshipped and prayed inside our churches. … Now it’s time to take it out to the streets and stadiums and parks and fields,” the ministry’s Web site stated. In the evenings, the young adults will camp out in fields and lead prayer and worship; during the day participants will evangelize in various towns along the way.
Their destination is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, site of the beginning of the 1967 Summer of Love, which was characterized by drugs, “free sex” and Eastern mysticism.
“On Saturday, August 11, we’ll hold a mass outdoor gathering to pray for another Jesus Movement to erupt and bring in an unprecedented harvest [of souls to Christ],” TheCall’s Web site stated. This weekend the tour will be in Wichita, Kan.
