AWAKEN Church Planting Event Set for November 12

The Church of God Office of Church Planting has announced the AWAKEN Church Planting Interest Meeting on November 12, 2020. The free two-hour virtual event will be conducted via Zoom beginning at 8:00 p.m. EST.

“One of the most successful pathways to bring people into the Kingdom of God is Church Planting,” stated Mitchel Maloney, director of the Office of Church Planting for the Church of God. “Over the last four years, the Church of God has planted almost 900 churches in North America. Although that is a great accomplishment, we are not willing to slow down in our fight to reach the lost through more church plants.”

Anyone interested in joining the church planting movement, whether as a church planter, a team member, or wanting to know more before making a commitment, may want to consider attending the virtual event.

According to Maloney, the Zoom conference will answer questions such as:

• Why should we plant new churches?
• Who can plant a life-giving church?
• How can I build a launch team?
• What kind of church planting model should I consider?
• How important is personal evangelism?

In addition to the online event, those who are preparing to launch a new congregation are invited to participate in a free Church Planter Launch Intensive on December 4 (6:00 – 9:30PM EST) and December 5 (11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST), 2020. In this 1½ day live-streamed training event, experienced church planting coaches will lead discussions on key steps and strategies for planting life-giving churches.

“If you, or someone you know, is interested in planting a church, please go to to discover how you can participate,” Maloney emphasized. “Help us share the news about Church Planting so we can effectively spread the Good News about Jesus.”

Maloney went on to further announce the office will be conducting other virtual meetings early in 2021 to help move Church Planting efforts forward. In the coming virtual intensives, urban / city church planting, coaching for church planting and models for church planting will be discussed.

“Future correspondence on upcoming virtual meetings is forthcoming,” Maloney concluded. “Please help circulate the information about the November 12 AWAKEN Church Planting Interest Meeting and the December 4-5 Church Planter Launch Intensive. Again, there is no charge for either of these events, so sign up today at”
