Teacher of the Year Announced

The International Department of Youth and Christian Education, along with Pathway Press, announces the 2008 winner of the annual Teacher of the Year award. This year’s winner is Shirley Sapp, Bay Harbour Church of God in Brunswick,Georgia.

Her pastor, Ricky Harris states, “Sister Sapp is under a divine mandate from God. There are several meanings of mandate in the dictionary but the one that stands out the most is, “an authorization to act given to a representative.” Shirley shows that in her love and passion to equip her class. There is a big difference in someone who fills a position in a class and someone who has a life change word to give his or her class. Having her as a teacher of the Word is an honor to the growth and success of the Bay Harbour Sunday School program.”

Shirley will receive a weekend package in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; spending money, and Christian education resources from Pathway Press.
