European Theological Seminary Offering Free Online Courses

European Theological Seminary, a Church of God-affiliated institution located in Kniebis, Germany, has announced the offering of online courses for free. The announcement comes from ETS President Stephen Darnell.

“We realize that church leaders, pastors and laity are presently facing one of the greatest challenges of our lives and ministries: the pandemic known as COVID-19,” Darnell stated. “Here at the European Theological Seminary, in order to accommodate our students, we moved all educational activities away from the physical classroom to an online, interactive format using Zoom. Realizing that ‘now’ is a time that can be used to better equip ourselves for future ministry opportunities, ETS has made the decision to open lectures for any undergraduate (bachelor’s level) course to anyone who would like to audit (sit-in) the course for free (i.e., no tuition fees).” Darnell went on to say that anyone who desires academic credit would need to register with ETS, pay tuition, and complete all class work and exams.

All courses are taught in two-week blocks and are usually weekdays from 8:00 to 13:00 with hourly breaks. ETS is on Central European Time and certain exceptions may arise in class times when lecturers are Zooming in from the United States or other parts of the world.

“Our desire is to see our students become devoted disciples of Jesus Christ who are able to offer and give their very best in Christian ministry,” Darnell concluded.

Beginning Tuesday, 14 April, through 24 April 2020, one module class will be offered. The class is being taught by Dr. Thomas Rosson and is titled “Leadership Theories.”
