Leaders Offer Birthday Wishes to Church of God

On August 19, 2019, the Church of God turned 133 years old and the well-wishers have taken to social media to wish the denomination a happy birthday.
Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill is pleased with the response on both the Church of God and his personal Facebook pages.

“It has already been shared 1,800 times,” Hill stated a few days after the post. “We are getting hundreds of responses in various languages as the post has gone viral around the world. It is gratifying to read the positive comments and the genuine love of people, both inside and out of the Church of God, who admire this movement.”

Daystar founder Marcus Lamb said, “Joni & I want to congratulate the Church of God on 133 great years! That is an amazing length of time and accompanied with great results. We were both a part of the Church of God when we were born and proud to still be a part.”

Pastor Mark Rutland posted, “The impact, the truly world-wide impact of the Church of God for 133 years is beyond human reckoning, but God knows every life touched and every soul saved. Congratulations and happy 133rd birthday to the Church of God.”

Pastor Jentezen Franklin stated in his post that, “It’s remarkable to know that 133 years ago this week, the COG was birthed in a sovereign move of God’s Holy Spirit. The fire that was lit, still burns bright today around the world! I’m proud to be part of this global church that is reaching more souls than ever before. Dr Ray Hughes used to say, ‘The Anointing Makes The Difference!’ Thank God the COG is proof of that reality.”

Several posted video greetings on the Church of God Facebook page, including gospel singer Jason Crabb and Sammy Rodriguez, both of whom spoke of their spiritual roots in the Church of God. Members of the Church of God Executive Committee also joined in the greetings in a special video post.

“My mother was raised in the Church of God in Puerto Rico,” Rodriguez stated. “I am a spiritual by-product of this amazing movement…so happy anniversary, Church of God. Together we will do one thing in the name of Jesus…change the world!”
