Lighthouse Cities Leadership Coalition Meets

On April 29-30, 2019, the Lighthouse Cities Leadership Coalition met in Cleveland, Tenn. for their third annual meeting. The coalition of pastors and state leaders are a part of Church of God World Missions’ “Send the Light to the Cities” effort.

This year’s gathering was the largest with over 50 participants from 14 states. The goal of the Leadership Coalition is to help mobilize, engage, strategize, give, and train leaders in the following world-class cities:

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS

KIGALI, RWANDA (now LUSAKA, ZAMBIA)

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

BANGKOK, THAILAND

PARIS, FRANCE

SAO PALO, BRAZIL

BUENO AIRES, ARGENTINA

LOME, TOGO

TOKYO, JAPAN

EDINBURG, SCOTLAND

MANILA, PHILIPPINES

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA

MOSCOW, RUSSIA (prayer emphasis)

In the fall of 2016, World Missions Director David Griffis launched the SLC initiative. The strategy was to target world-class cities where we could establish training centers to focus on planting churches.

“God has blessed our efforts and in 2018, Dr. Griffis and Dr. Propes announced the three new cities of Bueno Aires, Edinburgh, and Tokyo,” stated Mark Swank, facilitator of the event.

Several World Mission representatives shared at the event. A highlight was hearing pastors and state administrative bishops that had recently returned from mission training trips in several of the Lighthouse Cities.

Churches interested to find out more about how they can partner with this effort may contact Mark Swank at [email protected], or call 423.599.3210.
