Prayer Training to Take Place During Agree ‘19

Cleveland, TN–In conjunction with Agree 19, the January 7-9, 2019 prayer convocation at the International Offices, Church of God Prayer Ministries will host a Strategic Prayer Training, Tuesday, January 8 through Thursday, January 10, 2019. Administrative bishops, state prayer leaders and teams, key pastors and leaders who might help with some aspect of the prayer process are invited to attend. The meeting will also include the Unreached People Group (UPG) coalition.

The first service of Agree ’19 begins at 10:30 a.m. on January 7 with Pastor Roy Tucker. Speakers for the next two mornings include Evangelist William “Bill” Lee, and Rhonda Holland respectively. Each evening, January 7-9, participants will gather at the Church of God International Offices for a live broadcast of the global prayer service with Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill, members of the Executive Committee and church leaders. All services will be livestreamed at churchofgod.org.

Different aspects of the meeting include:

• Integrating prayer mobilization and the unfinished harvest
• Developing a strategy to mobilize, missional-worshipful, unceasing prayer, around the world
• Launching The Praying Church Movement
• Invigorating state/regional prayer teams
• Training for potential Project Pray Associate presenters

“We are on a mission, to encourage our churches to be ‘houses of prayer,’ that demonstrate compassion to the lost and look for opportunities to share Christ,” stated Dr. Doug Small, coordinator of Church of God Prayer Ministries. “If we assume prayer, like assuming the fire on the altar, it will die. If we don’t direct it, shape its theology, it will degenerate to self-interested prayer – prayer requests. We must recover prayer that is at its heart worship, and at its edge mission. We want to come out of this January meeting firing on all cylinders and we especially want to raise the level of intercessory prayer engagement.”
