PCL Dedicates Cambodian Medical Clinic

Delegates from the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by his excellency Vice Governor Huot Hay, and People for Care and Learning (PCL), led by Chairman of the Board Scott Sheppard, recently gathered for a handover/dedication ceremony of the Medical Clinic in Andong Village of the Build-A-City project.

PCL is an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God. The Build-A-City project was spearheaded by PCL several years ago.

Sheppard, along with Dr. Fred Toké, chief of operations for PCL, and Isaac Lutz, Cambodia country director, toured the facility acknowledging the hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical equipment shipped from the United States to be dedicated and installed.

The equipment will provide a substantially increased level of care for the residents of Andong Village, people who rose from difficult and impoverished situations to become homeowners and form a community with potential.

During the ceremony, Vice Governor Hay announced that the Kingdom of Cambodia will expand the size of the clinic which will upgrade it from a medical clinic to a public health center.

PCL Chairman Sheppard stated, “To all donors and partners in ministry, PCL thanks you for enabling us to continue its mission of breaking the cycle of poverty, and inspiring hope and developing empowering potential.”
