Reynolds Appointed Director of Ministerial Development

Dr. Michael Reynolds has been appointed director of Ministerial Development in the Church of God Division of Education (DOE). The appointment was made earlier this month at the 77th International General Assembly and announced by Dr. Michael Baker, chancellor of the Division of Education. Reynolds officially began his duties this week.

Reynolds will work with Baker and the DOE staff, as well as direct the Lilly Initiative.

Reynolds brings a wealth of experience in ministry and education. He has served as lead pastor of New Life Celebration Church of God in Dolton, Illinois, since 1992. The church has planted eight churches and has an elementary school that serves community children from preschool through eighth grade.

Reynolds also served as the president of the New Life Urban Educational Center, the discipleship arm for the church. He was executive producer of two television shows called the New Life Show and Entrusted With the Gospel. Both were produced at New Life Celebration’s television studio. In addition Reynolds served as chaplain for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Since 2006, Reynolds has served at Trinity International University as director of the Master of Arts in Urban Ministry, as well as executive director and associate academic dean, South Chicago Regional Center. Reynolds is editor of the Urban Devotional Bible (Crossway, 2007).

Dr. Reynolds and his wife, Erica, who served as the director of worship at New Life, have been married for 37 years and have four children, Michael II, Celenna, Jonathan, and Cicely and are grandparents to three children.
