2018 MIP Commissioning Celebration

The 2018 MIP Commissioning Celebration has two tremendous services planned for the more than 1,600 people registered for the Celebration.

Dr. Timothy Hill, general overseer, will speak on Saturday morning, May 19, and then lead in the Commissioning of the MIP candidates.  He will be joined with international leaders, administrative bishops, supervising pastors, and the congregation in praying the Commissioning prayer for the candidates and their spouses.  In the Friday evening service, Dr. David Ramírez, assistant general overseer and executive liaison to the Division of Education, will preach.  The service will conclude with a reception for the congregation with a focus on the MIP participants.

The Celebration weekend begins Friday, May 18, with the MIP Leadership Seminar where Gary Lewis, administrative bishop of South Georgia, will speak on the future of ministerial training from an administrative bishop’s perspective, and Joe Dobbins, pastor of Twin Rivers Worship Center, will speak on the future of ministerial training from a pastor’s viewpoint.

The seminar will be followed by a special appreciation luncheon for administrative bishops to thank them for their support and to honor them, especially the Ministerial Internship Program.  Dr. Michael Baker, chancellor of education and president of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and the seminary will host the luncheon for the administrative bishops, as well as present them with gifts of appreciation.

In the afternoon, Dr. Hill will meet with MIP candidates and their spouses who are part of the Jeremiah Generation.  Dr. Hill will talk with them about their ministry in the Church of God and how together they and the church can partner to expand the kingdom of God and FINISH COMMITMENT.

Tours will be conducted at the International Offices, Lee University, and the Pentecostal Theological Seminary for the people attending the Celebration.

The public is invited to attend the services at the North Cleveland Church of God on Friday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 19, at 10:00 a.m.  The seminar and services will also be livestreamed on the Internet at https://mipcommissioning.cogdoe.org/live-stream.
