Scotland Holds First Ever Teen Talent

Andrew Akilan, national youth director for the Church of God in Scotland, visited the U.S. for Smoky Mountain Winterfest last March and left inspired to do more to reach the youth of his country.

Out of this desire, Akilan and his team decided to host Scotland’s first ever Teen Talent competition. It was a complete success.

“Everyone is already excited for next year’s contest – one church has even started building a trophy case to display the accomplishments of their youth,” Akilen said. Conversations are taking place to broaden the event across the UK and Europe.

National overseer Dennis Tanner said, “Smaller countries can host these events! There are youth in each country that, if given the opportunity, will shine for God.”

He further stated, “We are so thankful for… your help, your confidence, your encouragement, and the financial support we received from so many churches for our youth ministry.”
