New Entry Added to ‘Let’s Talk About It’ Series

The latest edition in the “Let’s Talk About It” series has been released by Church of God General Overseer Timothy M. Hill.

Hill began the series last fall with two documents, followed by a mass release of four others earlier this year. Editions 3-6 were unveiled during the January meeting of the International Executive Council and to a special gathering of the Top 200 pastors on January 29 and 30 in Atlanta.

“The series originated as a way to share my heart about topics which seem to frequently arise in our movement,” Hill stated. “As your general overseer, my hope is that everyone who reads these documents will do so with an open mind and heart toward reconciling some issues which have at times in the past sparked debate. Other topics are an attempt to clarify our denominational position and/or cast a vision for the future.”

The seventh installment, released this week in both print and online, is a heart-to-heart assessment of the importance of the upcoming General Assembly in Orlando, Florida. Starting out with a story of the first assembly he remembers. He then discusses how every minister and member has a reason to attend this year’s event on July 30 – August 3.

Speaking as a member of the International Executive Council, Hill stated, “As leaders, we are duty-bound to spend our energy bringing to the delegates of a General Assembly a meaningful agenda….every decision, and especially the core of our decision-making process, must be fully grounded in a clear understanding and interpretation of scripture.”

The first subject was about the Tithe of Tithes, which was released late last year, and several hundred copies have been distributed as well as online. It was followed by Church Planting shortly thereafter. The four titles released in January included Systems; Financial Transparency in the Church; Broom Trees, Caves, and the Real Truth; and What Was I Thinking?

The “Let’s Talk About It” series is available online by visiting http://www.churchofgod.org/lets-talk-about-it. Pathway Press is maintaining a supply of each title for those who wish to order hard copies for distribution. Please contact David Ray at [email protected] to order.
