New Administrative Bishops Named

Cleveland, TN– In a special called session of the International Executive Committee of the Church of God, new Administrative Bishops were named for the North Central Region (North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana) and for Michigan.

Effective immediately, Kip A. Box will serve as the Administrative Bishop/State Overseer for Michigan, while David L. Kemp will serve in the same capacity in the North Central Region.

In making the announcements, Dr. Timothy M. Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God, offered these comments, “Kip Box and David Kemp have always been exemplary leaders in the Church of God. I have no doubt that both will excel in these new assignments. The Church of God is fortunate to have leaders of this quality.”

A long-term pastor, Box has served as the State Overseer in the North Central Region since August 2016. Kemp, also a long-term pastor, has most recently served as the Church Ministries Director in South Carolina.

The opening in Michigan was created when former Michigan Administrative Bishop Tim Nuckles accepted the pastorate of The Church at Mercy Crossing in Martinsville, Va.
