Church of God Musicians’ Work Nominated for Grammy Award

Church of God gospel music artists Jimmy and Jennifer Layne, of the group “Back Home,” were recently informed of a first round Grammy Award nomination for their album, “Your Son.”

The album was nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album. It was produced by Jeff King and Chris Latham.

“We are excited to see our name on the ballot of a first round Grammy nominee,” The Laynes commented.

General Overseer Tim Hill congratulated the Laynes on his Facebook page.

“What a significant week for some musical artists with Church of God heritage,” Hill stated. In addition to the Grammy nominated album, Hill noted the talents of Brooke Simpson, a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice,” and Phil Nitz, who won a Dove Award for Musical Choral Collection of the Year last week.
