International Council In session This Weekend

Cleveland, TN–The International Council (IC), a body of leaders from around the globe focused on the global ministries of the Church of God, begin their biennial meeting this Sunday, September 24, 2017.

Different from the International Executive Council (IEC), the International Council is comprised of appointed and elected leaders from both the International Offices and strategic regions of the world. The group meets every two years and usually coincides with the regularly-scheduled September meeting of the IEC, where they come together for at least one joint session.

The IC begins their gathering Sunday afternoon at the T.L. Lowery Global Foundation building in Cleveland. Sunday’s opening session will consist of introductions, presentation of the agenda and an address from General Overseer Tim Hill.

Session Two will take place on Monday morning with a report from Director of World Missions David Griffis and a Ministerial Advocate Report from Assistant General Overseer Raymond F. Culpepper. The remainder of the morning session will consist of reports from World Missions Field Directors: Africa, Peter Thomas; Asia Pacific, Andrew Binda; Caribbean, Ishmael Charles; Europe, Stephen Darnell; and Latin America, Otoniel Collins.

In Session Three there will be a presentation from guest John Wagenveld, leader of the Church Multiplication Network. Other items of business will include a review of 2018 General Council Agenda recommendations and a discussion about international credentialing. Monday’s activities will conclude in a joint dinner with members of the IC and IEC who will be joined by guest speaker Marcus Lamb, co-founder and president of the Daystar Television Network.

Tuesday morning’s joint session with the two groups will include a special order of the day with guest William M. Wilson, president of Oral Roberts University. It will also include a photo session and further discussion about the 2018 General Council recommendations before adjournment and the regular session of the International Executive Council begins.

Mills, Sr. (Africa); Joseph Persaud (Caribbean); Jonathan Augustine (European); Francisco Jimenez (Latin America); and Florin T. Cimpean (Romanian).
