Church of God in Pakistan Launches Bible School

On January 14, 2017, the Church of God in Pakistan celebrated its 40th Anniversary by beginning a new school to train ministers. Pentecostal Theological Seminary Pakistan was organized by Education Director Joel Rehmat. (NOTE: Seminary is a common name for many international Bible schools; the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, Tenn., is not sponsoring this school.)

The Seminary in Pakistan teaches the Certificate In Ministerial Studies (CIMS) courses, provided by the Church of God Division of Education. Eight students began studying the CIMS courses, and plans are for the students to finish the entire CIMS curriculum within two years.

Dwain Pyeatt, International Coordinator for the School of Ministry said, “Education Director Joel Rehmat visited my office during the summer of 2016, asking for assistance in starting a new Bible school. I shared with him the CIMS courses and we signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which authorizes the Church of God in Pakistan to reproduce and use the CIMS materials to train ministers. The Division of Education has started several Bible schools internationally using this method.”

At last report, the Church of God in Pakistan had 23 churches.
