Pure Flix Hosts Movement in Conjunction with New Film

In conjunction with the Oct. 21 release of the inspiring true story, “I’m Not Ashamed,” Pure Flix Alliance and thousands of ministries across the nation are joining forces in outreach and service through the I AM HOPE movement.

I AM HOPE is a movement inspired by Rachel Joy Scott, one of the lives tragically lost in the 1999 Columbine High School massacre.

Emphasizing all areas of ministry about which Rachel was passionate during her 17 years on earth, I AM HOPE includes a four-week discipleship program empowering youth to share their faith. The campaign is designed for church leaders to kick-off on Sept. 28 at “See You At The Pole” and culminates with concerted service opportunities in communities nationwide following the Oct. 21 release of “I’m Not Ashamed.”

“We are praying that with God’s help we can create a national movement of youth across the country who will stand up and declare ‘I’m not ashamed of my faith’ just as Rachel Joy Scott bravely did in 1999,” said Franklin Santagate, vice president of global strategic alliances for Pure Flix Entertainment. “Our hope is to encourage a generation to be voices for Christ in their schools and communities. Rachel’s life story and her desire to boldly proclaim Jesus’ name, as told in ‘I’m Not Ashamed,’ should be an example and inspiration to us all.”

The movement, running Sept. 26 through Oct. 30, is comprised of four weeks of discipleship, one week of outreach and one week of volunteer work. The discipleship sessions will focus on equipping students with a basic Gospel outline, overcoming fear related to sharing the Gospel, preparing students to share their personal stories and testimonies, and engaging students in their school with the Gospel.

Additionally, Pure Flix is launching an I AM HOPE app that will be launched during the “See You At The Pole” events and includes the I AM HOPE movement curriculum along with music videos from Christian artists Abigail Duhon and Jeremy Camp, both singing their creative interpretations of “I’m Not Ashamed.”

During the fifth week of the program, youth ministry members are encouraged to purchase a movie ticket for themselves and two for outreach to a family, friend, student or neighbor who does not know the Lord.

“‘I’m Not Ashamed’ is more than a movie telling a powerful and inspiring story of faith; it is also a call to action,” said Santagate. “We want to encourage Christian leaders everywhere to join the thousands of ministries already involved and get their youth groups engaged with this unique national opportunity.”
