Podcaster Says a Relationship with God is ‘All About You’

Brian Hardin, author and host of the highly successful DailyAudioBible.com podcast, which has 80 million downloads and 150,000 daily listeners, encourages readers to rethink, reframe and restart their relationship with God in his newest book, “Reframe: From the God We’ve Made … to God with Us.”

Contrary to popular belief, Hardin insists that a healthy relationship with God begins with you. “It’s all about you. And it’s all about what you do next. It always has been,” writes Hardin in “Reframe.” “I know you’ve been told otherwise your whole life – but it is.”

Through “Reframe,” Hardin helps shift readers’ perception of God from beyond book knowledge to an intimate relationship full of emotions, dialogue, and moments as real as any experienced here on Earth.

Hardin is not new to Christianity, being the son of a pastor and having worked in the professional Christian music industry. Yet in 2005, he realized he knew facts about God, but didn’t actually know God. He began to read Scripture everyday, spending time talking to God about deep things, which led to a dramatic impact on his relationship with God.

“The Bible uses the metaphor of husband and wife to convey a relationship with the church for a reason,” said Hardin. “I can know every fact and detail about my wife, but that knowledge isn’t what makes our marriage strong.”

Throughout the book, Hardin doesn’t shy away from asserting outrageous, but all too relatable metaphors for what believers have gotten so wrong in their approach to their relationship with God.

“God has basically been framed as the very wealthy uncle who also happens to be the family drunk. We need to keep Him happy so that we can get what we want and need, but we need to steer clear of His rages, and He’s certainly not all that reliable,” said Hardin. “…This view of God is the origin of all of our assumption and mistrust. All the doubt and misunderstanding start here.”

Hardin fashions a one-of-a-kind work that dramatically expresses who God is – and why He so desperately loves and enjoys us. God has done everything to be in relationship with us. And so, as Reframe begins, “It’s all about you. And all about what you do next.”

“Reframe” is available in print, e-book, video group study, and soon-to-release audiobook. For additional information, visit www.reframebook.com.
