Operation Compassion Responds to Texas Flooding

Houston–In the terrible aftermath of tornadoes and destructive power of torrential rainfall, Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God, is organizing its disaster relief partners for Texas and Oklahoma. Operation Compassion is putting in place multiple sites where survivors are able to find assistance with food, clothing, water and other emergency supplies.

OC’s partner, Moms Against Hunger (MAH), under the direction of Dr. Gayla Holly, has multiple warehouses, forklifts and box trucks available to provide distribution to the communities most devastated. In addition, they have a box truck that can deliver supplies directly to the areas most impacted.

God’s Pit Crew (GPC), another of OC’s long term partners, is responding with semi-trucks of products to be delivered to Houston, TX. GPC is delivering bottled water, Gatorade, blessing buckets and other needed supplies.

“With 400 homes damaged in San Marcos and flood waters still rising and the threat of more rain and severe weather in the forecast, the rivers, bayous and lakes are reaching some of the highest flood levels ever recorded in Houston,” stated Dave Lorency, director of Operation Compassion. “The San Jacinto River with its east and west forks are most vulnerable. With this in mind, Operation Compassion is staging more semi-trailers of disaster relief supplies.”

To become a disaster relief partner, financial donations can be made by giving online, over the telephone or through the mail. It is easy, safe and secure.
