Hughes Voice of a Legacy DVDs Available
Last year the Church of God Dixon Pentecostal Research Center launched the Voice of a Legacy project in order to capture the voices of ministers and laity who have lived and led in the Pentecostal movement. Dr. Ray H. Hughes, a former three-time general overseer for the Church of God, is the first in a series of releases of the interviews on DVD sets.
“These interviews are intended to pass to the coming generation the spiritual legacy of the Pentecostal movement,” stated Dr. David Roebuck, Church of God historian and director of the Dixon PRC. “Dr. Hughes’ interviews, as well as many others, are part of the Voice of a Legacy project and are available from the Dixon Pentecostal Research Center.” Roebuck has spearheaded the project and conducted the interviews over the past 18 months. In addition to Hughes, interviews include Mrs. J.T. Roberts, W.C. Byrd, Cecil B. Knight, Gene D. Rice, Raymond E. Crowley, George Peart, Flavius J. Lee and John Nichols. More are planned for the near future.
Ray H. Hughes, Sr. is one of the most influential preachers in the modern Pentecostal movement. In addition to his numerous leadership capacities in the Church of God, he led the National Association of Evangelicals and chaired the Pentecostal World Fellowship for several years, including international conventions in Jerusalem and Seoul. The 4-DVD collection is housed in a handsome binder suitable for display on a library shelf. The set is entitled, “The World Is My Parish,” and chronicles Hughes’ ministry from birth on a Georgia farm to becoming a Pentecostal statesman. The set retails for $49.95 and includes a bonus CD with a special song written about Hughes entitled, “The Preacher, The Prophet, The Flame”
