Music Leaders Gather for Advisory Council
The international Music Advisory Council of the Church of God recently held its retreat and conference at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs Colo. The purpose for the retreat was to renew spiritual direction, revive purpose and callings and to reconnect through fellowship. The 3-day conference included open discussions on topics such as future of worship, models of music ministry and methods and stylings of music. The meeting was further highlighted by guests Ross Parsley of New Life Church and accomplished songwriter and recording artist Terry Macalmon.
Dr. Delton Alford, director of the Music Ministries Department for the Church of God said “This meeting was a beautiful example of our leadership team for the department coming together with several outstanding ministers of music in our denomination to share ministry ideas, plan upcoming musical events and to be spiritually renewed and refreshed while fellowshipping with one another.”
The advisory council is comprised of leading music ministers of the Church of God who provide the Music Ministries Department with valuable insight and information. Many conference attendees left the conferences stating “mission accomplished!” They further expressed that their time together proved productive for their individual ministries as well as beneficial overall for the Kingdom of God.
