MyChristianHits.com Launches with Inaugural Christian Music Awards

FreQ Media launches it’s second website at MyChristianHits.com that immediately offers up 7 distinct radio streaming channels for all Christian music fans. MyChristianHits.com also offers up it’s entry into the music awards scene as it debuts it’s inaugural “My Christian Hits Awards” via the website that will be decided solely on fan-based voting over the next three weeks, ending March 18, 2015.

The My Christian Hits Awards features 39 very distinct categories celebrating a wide variety of musical art not always given the opportunity for exposure during other music award shows or lists. The categories range from the normal genres of rock, pop, and hip-hop, but also give artists involved in folk, metal/hardcore, underground hip-hop, kid’s pop, electronic/EDM, worship, country, and Christmas a chance to shine. The category groupings are based primarily off of MyChristianHits.com’s current and future music channel names. A complete list of categories and nominees can be found at MyChristianHits.com.

While the website offers fans the exclusive choice to pick their winners in every category, voting will also land five lucky voters a prize package of various music items from some of their favorite artists.

“With the debut of MyChristianHits.com, we believe we will quickly involve the Christian music fan not only with our website and well programmed music channels, but by giving them a large platform to speak out on their favorite artists across all genres and styles of music,” states FreQ Media General Manager and former Radio & Records/Billboard Christian editor Rick Welke. “And with us simultaneously launching the ‘My Christian Hits Awards’ over the next three weeks, we’re also giving every music fan the power to pick the best artists, songs, and projects over the past 12 months. That is something they are not used to within the Christian element of the music industry.”

MyChristianHits.com presently offers the music listener seven distinct music channels, with more on the way. Currently the formats available are Organic (folk/acoustic), Glow (electronic/pop/EDM), Boom (hip-hop/R&B), Vertical (worship), Heartland (country), iShine (Christian hits/teen pop), and Retro Rock (Classic Christian rock). Plans include offering a new hardcore/metal channel and a more underground hip-hop station in the near future.
