Great Lakes Region Livestreams Equippers Conference

Almost 300 local church pastors and leaders from across the Great Lakes Region of the Church of God recently chose the location closest to their local church to gather with their peers for a time of united training and equipping for ministry.

Realizing that time, travel and expense are constant challenges for being able to get local church leadership together for training, the Great Lakes Region conducted their January 31 Equipping Conference, in Chicago (Dolton) Illinois, while live streaming to three additional locations in Green Bay, Fond du Lac and Antigo, Wisconsin.

David Velie, from Amend Consulting, LLC., addressed the subjects of “Structure and Leadership” in the local church.

“Each location coordinator reported excitement at their location as the leaders were engaged in this vital training event,” said Great Lakes Region Administrative Bishop Ron K. Martin. “Too often the local pastor, if they are able to attend an equipping conference, leave excited and inspired to take the message and training back to their local church and leadership, only to be hindered by the work and emergencies that await their return. Time quickly passes and frustrations once again set in as their spirits become overwhelmed because time has passed and they have been robbed of the opportunity to communicate and implement the things the Holy Spirit and trainers had inspired in their last time of training.”

Bishop Martin and the Great Lakes Region are finding that live streaming and webinar training are valuable tools of communication as they take time, travel, traffic and expense out of the reasons for not being able to connect the pastors and leaders in the local church.
