Baptism in China

We recently conducted a water baptism on a beautiful beach. Seven people were baptized.

We had been planning this water baptism for over a month. As the day approached, we were excited and nervous because it was going to be the first time we baptized so many people publicly. We spent a lot of time in prayer for God’s protection.

It was a sunny afternoon. As soon as we arrived at the beach, we formed a circle and prayed. After singing praise songs, we talked about water baptism to make sure they understood the significance of it. After explaining everything, I encouraged them with this Scripture: “And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name” (Acts 22:16).

Finally, the new converts were guided into the water one by one. We asked three questions: “Do you want to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? In front of many witnesses, do you want to publicly profess being a Christian? Even in times of difficulties, will you hold on to your faith?” After the person answered “yes,” we baptized him or her in water. All together, seven people were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We will disciple these new Christians so they can produce fruit. No matter what we face in the future, we will continue to serve Him faithfully. For the Lord is with us always, to the very end of the age.

Names are removed for safety purposes.
