Group Launches Campaign for Bible Trading Card Game

Franklin, TN–Is it possible to have fun and encourage Biblical literacy at the same time? Tennessee parents Jeremy and Jennica Reis believe so and created a set of trading cards, Josiah Cards, as an alternative to fantasy trading cards. Josiah Cards teach kids about the people of the Bible using scripture. They have launched a Kickstarter campaign in order to raise the funding necessary to print, package and distribute the Josiah Cards which will come in trading packs of 1-30 or 1-60 numbered cards.

The cards are called ‘Josiah Cards’ based on the story of King Josiah who rediscovered the book of the Law written by Moses and humbled the nation of Judah to follow the law and renew their covenant with Yahweh. The Reis family believe these cards will kindle – or in some cases rekindle – a love for scripture and the people of the Bible.

Jeremy explained, “Our kids found these cards to be a fun way to memorize scripture while playing. It’s amazing to watch how quickly they’re learning the Bible stories with Josiah Cards.”

Each of these 60 cards are uniquely designed and contain a different memory verse along with character attributes. A special gospel card sharing the gospel message is included outside the shrink-wrapped deck. A playing card manufacturer is printing the cards in order to attain the highest level of quality. The cards are designed in sets with verses in New American Standard Bible (NASB) or King James Version (KJV).

Supporters helping fund the Josiah Cards campaign will be eligible for perks including Limited Edition King David cards, 5×7 King David prints, pack of cards 1 thru 30, and pack of cards 1 thru 60.
