USA Missions Releases 2015 Local Church Outreach Plan
Church of God USA Missions has released the 3G Initiative, a twelve-month local church outreach plan, which has been approved by the USA Missions Board, and endorsed by the International Executive Committee.
USA Missions is under the direction of Dr. Wallace J. Sibley, divisional executive director and Dr. James E. Cossey, executive administrator.
The complete program was presented to state administrative bishops and state USA Missions directors at the leadership meeting this past September. The 3-G Initiative was the burden of Dr. Cossey, who worked with a select panel of local church leaders including pastors, evangelists, retired ministers, and administrators in its development.
The 3-G Initiative focuses on the “Three Greats” given to us by our Lord Jesus: The Great Commitment (Prayer), The Great Commandment (Care), and The Great Commission (Share). For each of the twelve months of 2015, the 3G Initiative offers a variety of ministry activities that revolve around the 3-Gs. For example: January introduces the first of twelve monthly days of prayer for lost souls, designed to call the church to a renewed compassion for the unsaved. January’s emphasis also focuses on the sanctity of human life, and begins with 21 days of prayer and fasting. February focuses on using Superbowl Sunday, Black Awareness Month, and Valentine’s Day as tools for evangelism, fellowship, and reconciliation. Each consecutive month provides suggested initiatives for local church evangelism.
“USA Missions will not produce large quantities of products for sale, but will offer ongoing downloadable resources,” Cossey stated. An attractive printable booklet and other materials that detail the 3-G Initiative are downloadable from the USA Missions website at www.usamissions.com.
