Missionaries Raise Their Support

One of the most important aspects of being a missionary is that at times they must come off of the field to raise money to further their ministry. This is a very difficult time. The missionaries not only have to support their home on the field, but also themselves while they are in the States. This is why donors are so important.

In recent years it has also been increasingly difficult to arrange missions services in churches in the States. And when churches do agree to have missions services, many missionaries are very hesitant to appear “money hungry” when quite the opposite is true.

“It is the donors and local churches who make it possible for the missionaries to fulfill their calling from God to ‘go and make disciples of all nations’?not only with their financial gifts, but with prayerful support as well. Today, there are more than 26,000 active donors in the Church of God who have said ‘yes’ to the Great Commission and proven their support to our missionaries and Church of God World Missions projects in 168 nations around the world,” says R. Terrell Brinson, administrative assistant.

They Are Needed on the Field

Coming back to the States to itinerate takes these missionaries off of the field where they are needed. Missionaries need to stay on the field to sustain relationships and be Christ’s love in action. However, many missionaries are living in a place where the cost of living is higher than in America, yet they have a lower income.

They Care More About Their Ministry

Many missionaries care more about their ministries than themselves. Instead of ever raising money for themselves (which is desperately needed) they put their ministries first over their own personal needs.

“Many of our missionaries are in urgent need of financial support. They faithfully continue their work, trusting God to provide the necessary finances. Please prayerfully consider sponsoring one of these missionaries. If the finances are not received they will need to return to the States for fundraising. Please help us keep them on the mission field,” says Yolanda Guy, donor relations.

On the Urgent Needs page, there is a board approved list of missionaries. Your donations make it possible for them to have their personal assistance, housing and travel needs met while they are on the field. Please adopt one of these men and women of God and support them every month for the next year. Any amount will help.
