Move Strengthens U.S. Operations of Company Serving Faith-based Organizations

Olive Technology (www.olivetech.com), a global information technology services company with a large faith-based organizations client base, announced today J. P. Poveda has joined the firm as its chief technology officer. Poveda will be based in Los Angeles, placing him close to key clients and strengthening Olive’s U.S. operations.

Poveda has spent two decades working with enterprise systems and software engineering. He served as vice president of engineering for Rowl, Inc., a mobile application startup that Apple used as one of its featured social networking applications. He was also co-founder and senior vice president for Taskport, Inc., a technology company that became publicly traded through acquisition.

As CTO, Poveda will utilize his experience in systems architecture, software engineering and executive management to help Olive’s growing list of clients discover and utilize effective alternatives to traditional IT services.

Founded in 1996, Olive Technology serves faith-based nonprofit and for-profit clients by leveraging global resources, talent and technology. Since its founding, it has served clients in more than 10 countries. Services include web application development, mobile application development and website development, maintenance and enhancements.

Olive’s clients include several leading faith-based organizations, including Saddleback Church, World Vision USA, Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), David C. Cook and International Bible Society.

Prior to coming to Olive Technology, Poveda was instrumental in helping raise more than $14 million and has negotiated contracts worth more than $2 million with Oracle and Dell. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Paul Carlson Partnership, which is devoted to medical and micro-finance development and relief in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees and is an adjunct professor at Biola University.
