Urgent Need: Ghana/Uganda Flooding
Uganda Flooding
National Overseer of Uganda Bishop Joseph Kagarama reports that many Church of God churches have been affected by the recent heavy rains and flooding.
Ten of our rural churches have been destroyed. It will cost an estimated $3,000 each to replace them.
Brother Kagarama is pleading for us to assist with this emergency. A one-person kit of malaria medicine, food and a blanket to help meet basic human needs only costs $25.
Floods in Ghana
Bishop Robert Nkansah, overseer of Ghana, is also experiencing horrendous flooding in his country. The government reports indicate there are 19,000 people homeless and 31 dead. They are appealing for the churches in the country to assist them.
None of our Church of God people have been killed. However, two of our churches in Ghana have been destroyed by the heavy rains and consequential flooding. Bishop Nkansah states that one of these churches can be replaced for about $2,000 and the other for about $5,000.
He also expressed a desire to be able to help our church people with medicine, food, and blankets at an approximate cost of $25 per person.
