Hurricane Dean Update from Belize

Hurricane Dean wreaked havoc on the Corozal and Orange Walk districts of Belize. Conditions are improving, but the damage is extensive. The sugar cane, papaya, bananas and vegetable crops were almost completely destroyed. Many people also lost the roof of their house.

The damage on the church is the following:

  • Two pastor’s homes were partially damaged in Concepcion Village and Libertad Village (Corozal).
  • One pastor’s home was completely destroyed in Corozal Town.
  • One pastor’s home in San Jose Village (Orange Walk) was also partially damaged.
  • One home of a member of our church in San Jose Village (Orange Walk) was partially damaged.
  • One home of a member of our church in Caledonia Village was partially damaged.
  • One home of a member of our church in Corozal Town was also partially damaged.
  • The roof of the garage on the missionary house was partially damaged.

These are some of the damages caused by Hurricane Dean within the Church of God in Belize. However, the northern part of Belize as a whole sustained extensive damage. We appreciate your prayers and believe God will supply all our needs.
