Sharing the Gospel
TURKEY — This journey has been worthwhile and the Lord was able to show me what surrender truly is and how to let the Holy Spirit work without me getting in the way.
I recently spend three days sharing with Hal, my friend to whom I was sent 16 years ago to let him know Jesus is Lord. I reread the sinner’s prayer to Hal and he confirmed he still believed what he prayed with me about two years ago. He is in God’s hands. This is the first time in my life I have truly done what the Lord sent me to do.
I was also able to share the Gospel with others, but one person in particular was a retired Turkish General. We had a good time talking because we come from a similar military background and went to the same school. He allowed me to share with him the book of John and went on to read the entire book. Then I offered to read the sinner’s prayer which his wife had prayed before she died. He permitted and listened. It was a good opportunity to give him the Word. He invited me to come back sometime. Pray for him please.
This journey has been worthwhile and the Lord was able to show me what surrender truly is and how to let the Holy Spirit work without me getting in the way. I was absolutely helpless in a way I never felt before. I was all alone with no Christians around, only Muslims. At times I would say, “Lord I don’t feel anything and everything seems to be so depressing but I rely on you for the results.” It works; the Lord works when I get out of the way and surrender.
