How Can You Help Operation Compassion?
The first part of 2007 has developed into one of the most significant periods of distribution for Operation Compassion. During the Christmas season, 1.2 million children received gifts of toys, books, candy and small games. Operation Compassion followed up this distribution with an emphasis on helping single parent families find suitable housing. Working with partner charities, 7,500 homes have been built.
As a continuation of this effort, Operation Compassion sent millions of dollars worth of auto mechanic, plumbing and electrical tools and sewing machines for re-training of these parents to be better employed. About the same time, Operation Compassion targeted 4.8 million children needing food to sustain their lives and sent these meals for distribution. Most recently, Operation Compassion was able to send 77,000 pairs of shoes to children who have been walking barefooted through their communities.
After hearing about all these efforts, you are probably asking, “How can I help?” There are a number of ways people everyday can help Operation Compassion meet these needs worldwide.
