Team Visits Nicaragua
Missionaries Richard and Carolyn Becton share about the Pan de Vida missions team that visited Nicaragua to help with the ministry there. The school project in Nicaragua is well underway and the first of three buildings is now complete.
We were recently very blessed to have a visit from the Pan de Vida team, out of Monroe, North Carolina. The team members were Lewis and Rosa Politiwisc, Jim and Kim Phillips with their daughter Alexis and her friend Karly, Marty Griffin, and Rob Freeman. We obtained a lot of pleasure and many blessings by this group’s actions and presence in Puerto Cabezas. This was the second trip for Pan de Vida, and its leader “Papa Lou.” Carolyn and I are constantly amazed by this group’s energy and effect upon the people.
Papa Lou spent three days on the Managua side of the country and then three more days on our side, the Atlantic Coast. He and his team must have been worn out, but they sure didn’t show it as they ministered through a women’s conference, a pastor’s conference and a vacation bible school which had over 300 children in attendance. They did all of that in addition to ministering to the people that live and work at the landfill in Puerto Cabezas. Papa Lou found time to preach twice and have Pastor Jim Phillips preach twice during their brief stay here. What a blessing for us, and for the indigenous people here in La Miskitia! The exciting school project is well underway; the foundation for the first of three buildings is now complete. Our next team is visiting in January to complete the first building. I found out yesterday that we have a month less time to complete the construction than we previously had thought. God knew that before we did, and I am sure he has it planned accordingly!
