International Executive Council in Session This Week

April 28, 2014–Cleveland, TN–The Church of God International Executive Council (IEC) began their regularly-scheduled April meeting today at the International Offices with a full agenda highlighted by the finalization of the General Council agenda for the upcoming 75th General Assembly.

It is at this meeting where details of the agenda are debated and approved and a final document is eventually passed on to members of the General Council for perusal. It is then released on the Church of God website. Items included on the agenda are debated throughout the week of July 29 – August 1, 2014 and then presented to the General Assembly for final debate at 2:00 p.m. on Friday August 1. The 75th International General Assembly will be held in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center.

In addition to the agenda, the IEC will hear various reports from sub-committees including Organizational Transformation, Budget Review, Personnel Compensation, Loan Underwriting Committee of Action, and a State Overseer Qualifications Study. The IEC will also be briefed on the progress of registration and events of the upcoming Assembly, as well as a proposed 2014 – 2016 Council schedule.

Although the IEC will begin sessions at 2:00 p.m. EST today, General Overseer Mark Williams will deliver an opening address on Tuesday morning as a Special Order of the Day. The IEC is scheduled to be in session until Friday, May 2, unless the agenda of items is completed earlier.
