Pentecostal Theological Seminary To Host Annual Ministers’ Week Conference

The Pentecostal Theological Seminary will host its annual “Ministers’ Week,” April 15—17, 2014 on the Seminary’s campus in Cleveland, Tennessee. This year’s conference, themed “Knowing God in the Ordinary Practices of Christian Life,” will present a number of opportunities for ministers and students to participate in worship services and breakout sessions.

“Ministers’ Week is an exciting time around the Seminary as our friends in the community and ministry associates gather on the campus for a time of spiritual renewal and challenge,” said Dr. Steven J. Land, President of the Seminary. “This year’s conference will address many of the practices and experiences essential to the Christian walk, such as keeping the Sabbath, engaging in ‘prayerful living,’ fasting, compassion, and so much more.”

The conference begins on Tuesday, April 15 at 11:00 AM with a keynote address by leading Pentecostal theologian Dr. Hollis Gause entitled “Life Ordered by Worship.” Two fifty-minute breakout sessions are scheduled to follow with presentations by Dr. Jackie Johns, Dr. Steven J. Land, Dr. Sang Ehil Han, Dr. John Gordy, Dr. Lee Roy Martin, Dr. Chris Green, and Dr. Blayne Waltrip.

On Wednesday, April 16, special emphasis will be on “worship and music.” A concert presentation entitled “Pentecostal Worship throughout History,” featuring Dr. Jonathan Alvarado, Edgar Rincon, and Justin Spears, will begin at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the concert, attendees are invited to a luncheon and panel discussion on “Pentecostal Worship and Music.”

Conference activities will conclude on Thursday, April 17 with another keynote address and breakout session opportunities.
