Operation Compassion and Christ Central Expand Long Term Partnership
Jimmy Jones of Christ Central Ministries in South Carolina has been partnering with Operation Compassion for more than 13 years. Christ Central Ministries’ rapid expansion created an urgent need for construction supplies and blankets for the poor and homeless.
Christ Central Ministries now has more than 98 facilities catering to the poor and homeless in SC. Medical clinics, homeless shelters, community outreach centers, veteran’s housing, and a 5 story apartment complex housing homeless mothers and their children are making a phenomenal impact across the state of SC.
Jimmy Jones has become one of the leading advocates in providing resources and help for the poor and needy. He was recently awarded the Order of the Palmetto by the governor of South Carolina. He serves as a consultant to the governor and mayors of towns and cities across the state. When the city government cut funding to one city’s homeless shelters by $2 million dollars, Christ Central Ministries stepped in to keep the homeless shelter open.
During the past several months, Operation Compassion has sent more than 15 semi-trucks loaded with food, tile, blankets, shoes, cleaning supplies, paper products and numerous other items. The tile from Operation Compassion allowed Jimmy to remodel many of the facilities across South Carolina.
Hope Center, a 15,000 square foot center was dedicated by South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in Graniteville. Operation Compassion and Christ Central Ministries are partnering with the governor of South Carolina to provide blankets, tile and other product across the state to many other agencies working with Christ Central Ministries.
Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent organization with roots in the Church of God, will continue its strong support and resourcing of other non-profit charities and agencies striving to make a difference in their communities. Jimmy Jones and Christ Central volunteers are making an impact on the entire state of South Carolina, changing the way disadvantaged and underserved communities receive assistance.
