International Executive Council Completes Abbreviated Session
Cleveland, TN–The International Executive Council of the Church of God completed a one-day session at the International Offices earlier this week. Unexpected inclement weather forced the Council to adjourn and allow members to return safely to their homes.
Despite an agenda that was cut short, General Overseer Mark Williams reported the business at hand was heartily discussed and portions that were not covered have been postponed until the April session.
“Unfortunately, we were unable to review the proposed agenda items for the upcoming International General Assembly,” Williams stated. “The Council will review what has been submitted at our next gathering in April where we will finalize it for presentation to the ordained bishops.” The 75th International General Assembly will be held July 29 – August 1, 2014 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Action passed at the 2012 General Assembly states that any action taking place at this session of the International Executive Council pertaining to the agenda for the 2014 General Assembly, will be placed on the Church of God website for review. This will now apply to the April session.
