Administrative Bishops Gathering for Leadership Event
]October 10, 2013–Cleveland, TN–Church of God administrative bishops and spouses are gathering for an annual update, training and fellowship event at the International Offices. The three days are a continuation of last year’s “Integrity” event and thus titled, “Integrity II.”
Integrity II begins tonight with an opening session entitled, “Encounter: Worship and the Word,” and will feature a keynote address by General Overseer Mark L. Williams. The session will be held at the North Cleveland Church of God.
On Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12, the event moves to the International Offices campus where general sessions will be held in the Leadership and Communications Conference Center. Topics include prioritizing student ministries, enhancing strengths and minimizing weaknesses, applying best practices to daily administration, and administrative procedures. Breakout sessions will be led by members of the International Executive Committee, including Williams, David M. Griffis, J. David Stephens, Wallace J. Sibley and M. Thomas Propes. Sessions will cover a variety of topics, including financial matters, crisis management and relationships.
“The role of administrative bishops is not only challenging, but ever-changing,” stated David Ray, director of communications for the Church of God and coordinator of Integrity II. “Dr. Williams and the executive committee feel passionately about training and keeping our state and regional leaders informed on, not only the latest of what is happening within the denomination, but in the church world as well. The state and regional administrative bishops are on the front line for the Church of God in the U.S. and equipping them with the leadership tools to be their best is a priority.”
Along with training, a vital part of Integrity II is relationship-building through fellowship events, such as a Thursday night reception and lunch meetings with Covenant Teams.
While spouses are encouraged to attend with their husbands, a Friday afternoon women’s leadership session is scheduled in the World Evangelization Center chapel. A number of guest speakers will address a variety of topics under the theme, “Unlocking the Chains.” The ladies will also hear a report on Operation Freedom: Rescuing the Servant Children of Haiti.
Integrity II will conclude with a Saturday morning general session entitled “Faith Matters! Truths Commonly Believed Among Us,” followed by a feedback and Q&A session.
