OneOhio Opens New Offices in Columbus

As part of its continuing merger of former Northern and Southern Ohio, the Church of God in Ohio has moved its executive offices to newly leased facilities in Columbus. This new location will allow for a more centralized access to the state offices for local pastors, ministers and church leaders.

Since 2010, when Northern and Southern Ohio were merged, the offices were in Akron. The plan to move to Columbus has always been at the forefront of the transition, but the downturn in commercial real estate markets delayed the sale of the Akron office until January 2013.

The new office is now located adjacent to the Port Columbus International Airport, approximately 10 minutes northeast of downtown Columbus. It is easily accessible from all parts of the state and provides an efficient and functional location for the business of the state church community.

A historical timeline positioned on the south wall of the lobby tells the story of the Church of God in Ohio from its inception in 1916, the division of the state in 1970, and the formation of OneOhio in 2010. Graphic design elements throughout lend a modern view of the future and provide for the balance between yesterday and tomorrow. Jan Wright led the interior design team and her commitments to an open, collaborative flow of workspace makes for a contemporary environment with some traditional elements.

“We are very proud of our new offices and believe they reflect our state’s commitment to a smaller, but efficient footprint for administrative need in OneOhio,” said Administrative Bishop William E. (Bill) Isaacs. “This new space will allow our state to invest more heavily in the vision of ministerial care, church planting and growth and ministerial development which are our core values. The leadership of Pat Wright, who oversaw the construction and moving of the state offices cannot be understated. His attention to detail and costs has served the state tremendously. The State Council’s vision for this new working environment is commendable. The state staff, some of which have transitioned their personal lives to work in Columbus, has shown tremendous courage and commitment to the long-term vision of OneOhio. We believe we are positioned for greatness going forward.”

The new offices of Church of God in Ohio are located at 2740 Airport Drive, Suite 310 in Columbus, Ohio. The website is www.ohiocog.com.
