Plans Continue for ‘The Praying Church’ Conference 2013
August 21-23, 2013, Church of God pastors and prayer leaders who desire to instill prayer in all they do, will gather at The Church at Liberty Square in Cartersville, Ga., for The Praying Church Conference.
Church of God Prayer Ministries, led by Dr. P. Douglas Small, is presenting the three-day event which will include 6:4 REdiscover Fellowship and a prayer service with Pastor Jim Cymbala and Dr. Daniel Henderson. In addition there will be over 20 workshops and plenary sessions.
Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams, a keynote speaker during the conference, has announced the next phase in the church’s prayer ministry – a focus on praying pastors. Jim Cymbala, of the famed 10,000-member Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, is renowned for their Tuesday night prayer service that draws some 4,000 each week. The Grammy Award- winning choir’ will share at the conference. Daniel Henderson, Liberty University professor and national director of The 6:4 Fellowship will speak, with a special focus on the prayer life of the pastor.
“We are going to call on God and ask Him to teach us how to make our churches houses of prayer as we trust Him to also meet each of us at our point of need,” stated Cymbala of the conference. “Pastors need so much encouragement these days. Together we are going to experience His grace from the word and presence of Christ.”
Doug Small said the goal of the Praying Church Conference is to encourage entire state prayer teams, as well as local church prayer teams to be in attendance.
