Operation Compassion Expands Tornado Relief

As the news of the tornado outbreaks in Texas and Oklahoma have gripped the nation for a week now, Operation Compassion, an independent benevolent organization with ties to the Church of God, is continuing to remain vigilant and expanding their response and recovery work. Having established five relief sites and eight semi-trailer loads of critical aid on route or delivered, they are ramping up efforts to increase aid and ensure work crews and volunteers have what they need to provide for the victims of the tragedy.

With a total of 34 semi-trailer loads staged and now 26 remaining to ship, Operation Compassion is prepared for a long-term response. Sites in Grandbury, Texas, Shawnee, Oklahoma and Moore, Oklahoma now have been resourced with critical relief supplies, heavy equipment for debris removal, cooking units able to feed up to 8,000 meals a day, disaster relief chaplains, work crews for clean up and with teams of volunteers for distribution and service.

Since last Tuesday, Operation Compassion partners have offered new product donations including food, water, blankets, shoes, clothing, cleaning supplies, building supplies and items for children. The work continues and the attention of Operation Compassion will remain upon the expansion of this recovery effort.
