Lee University Festival Choir to Present Community Concert Thursday

The Lee University Festival Choir will present a one-hour concert for the community on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Conn Center. The program will feature selections prepared for its upcoming performance at the 57thPresidential Inauguration. 

The concert will include songs with a patriotic, spiritual and regional flavor. Lee University Wind Ensemble will also perform at the event.

Cleveland Mayor Tom Rowland will be present to share remarks, along with Lee President Paul Conn. The Festival Choir will close with its rendition of “God Bless America” as they march to the Paul Dana Walker Arena for the start of the Flames basketball game.

US Senator Lamar Alexander announced on Nov. 1 the choir’s invitation to perform at the United States Capitol.

The Festival Choir is a selected blend of 200 out of 350 vocalists who perform regularly as part of Lee’s School of Music. The choir will be led by School of Music Dean Dr. William Green.

Admission is free and everyone is encouraged to attend this send-off celebration.
