Global/Urban Church Planting Initiative Announced; Sixth Region Added
The Church of God Executive Committee, led by General Overseer Mark Williams, has entered into a strategic alliance with Church of God World Missions to create a Global/Urban Church Planting Initiative.
This initiative One Church, One Missions, One Plan, will operate under the direction of Williams, Assistant General Overseer Wallace Sibley, World Missions Director Tim Hill, and World Missions Assistant Director John D. Childers. The operational strategy and implementation will function under the oversight of the office of the General Overseer and Church of God World Missions.
Presently Church of God World Missions has a strategic plan for urban evangelism and church planting in five regions of the world: Africa, Latin America, Asia/Pacific, Europe and Caribbean. The worldwide membership has approximately 6 million members under the oversight of World Missions. With this success as a model, the International Executive Committee has tasked World Missions to become the delivery system for a denominational church planting initiative which includes North America as the sixth region of the world.
