World Missions ‘Thank You Tour’ Begins Sunday

General Director of Church of God World Missions Dr. Tim Hill is announcing the 2012 World Missions “Thank You Tour” to begin this Sunday, September 2.

“After reviewing only the past 10 years, since 2002, and discovering that Church of God congregations and individuals in the United States and Canada have given $346 million (three hundred and forty-six million dollars) to win the lost, plant churches, build orphanages, fund Bible schools, maintain clinics, and much more, I just have a desire to say ‘Thank You’ in the most meaningful way I know,” Hill stated. “I am especially pleased with the heartfelt endorsement this has received from General Overseer Mark Williams and Divisional Director and Liaison Dr. Wallace Sibley.” Hill was elected to lead Church of God World World Missions at the Church of God General Assembly this past July.

Hill will travel to 18 cities from September 2 until November 11 to personally express the gratitude and appreciation World Missions has for Great Commission-loving people who have given of their resources to reach the harvest in 176 nations around the world.

Other members of the World Missions team will also dedicate their fall schedule to express the same gratitude as they travel individually throughout the nation. World Missions will send a personalized, specific, and brief video that says “thank you” to each administrative bishop prior to state ministers meetings. The presentation highlights the amount given in that particular state and also personally acknowledges the state overseer and state missions leaders by name.

In some areas, Hill will be joined by various guest artists whose music has been heard internationally. In other locations, he will be accompanied by career and associate missionaries who are living missions every day.

Expanding on his “Thank You” Tour plans, Hill said, “I’m fully aware that few, if any, of our dear mission friends ever give one dime expecting, or even wanting, to hear a ‘thanks’ in return. However, I personally can’t ignore this opportunity, in light of the incredible response to the General Assembly missionary offering, as well as the outstanding giving record of the last 10 years.

“When I consider that during the economic downturn in our nation during the last decade, and the financial adjustment that almost everyone in our country has had to make, it thrills me that we have not forsaken the harvest,” Hill added.

The culmination of this phase of the tour will take place at the South Cleveland Church of God on Sunday night, November 11. Dr. Hill will be joined by the World Missions team, various gospel artists frequently seen on the Gaither Homecoming Series, and musical guests from Lee University. The event will be streamed on the Internet as well as recorded for future airing on television.
