Hill Family Establishes Scholarship for Songwriters at Lee University
Church of God Assistant General Overseer Tim Hill and his wife, Paula, have endowed a new scholarship at Lee University to assist aspiring gospel songwriters.
Lee University President Dr. Paul Conn accepted the check and presented the Hills with a plaque as a gesture of thanks from the university.
Rev. and Mrs. Hill were recently honored for 35 years of ministry with a reception and benefit concert where all proceeds raised went toward the establishment of the Tim and Paula Hill Scholarship Fund.

“From this celebration, we raised funds to seed a scholarship for aspiring songwriters at Lee University,” Tim Hill said. “It is our desire that in the near future, this scholarship will be fully endowed and will begin to benefit a new generation of gospel songwriters.” In addition to the scholarship fund, the benefit raised money to assist church planters, evangelists, and missionaries through the Church of God Office of Ministerial Care. Hill stated that although the scholarship will begin paying out this fall, it is their desire to continually add to the fund, thus increasing the amount available to benefit deserving students.
“We take very seriously the preservation of our gospel and church music heritage,” Conn stated. “Over the last decade we have recruited several outstanding music professors at Lee who brought with them local church music ministry experience. We are keenly aware of the important role that church music plays, and will continue to play, in future generations of worship. I commend the Hills for recognizing a unique niche and establishing this scholarship fund.”
