Reunion Gatherings of Colleges to be Part of GA2012

The 74th Church of God International General Assembly (GA2012) is scheduled for July 24-27 at the Orange County Convention Center. An anticipated aspect of the event is the reunions of Church of God colleges and university alumni.

The reunions have become tradition at the General Assembly, as so many who attend the biennial event are alumni of one or more of the schools. Each year the groups grow larger and have become the one connecting point for many alumni, perhaps the only one for schools which are now closed.

In an effort to allow alumni who have attended two or more of the institutions to make an appearance at their respective reunions, effort has been put forth to stagger the start times to allow it. A good example is the first two reunions, scheduled for Wednesday evening following the evening service.

The largest of the General Assembly reunions will be the Lee University Alumni Reception, which will be held Wednesday, July 25 from 9:00 p.m. – 12:00 p.m. The location is the Florida Ballroom at the Hilton Orlando, located adjacent to the Convention Center. Starting 30 minutes later at 9:30 p.m. will be the Pentecostal Theological Seminary Alumni Reception. The location is the Orange County Convention Center, room S230DEF.

West Coast Bible College and Northwest Bible College are two former Church of God colleges which have closed. West Coast was located in Fresno, California, while the Northwest campus operated in Minot, North Dakota. These schools will hold their alumni reception, along with Patten University of Oakland, California, on Thursday, July 26, from 9:15 – 11:15 p.m. The location is the Hilton Orlando, Orange Ballroom C.

East Coast Bible College Alumni will also stage a reunion gathering on Thursday evening following the worship service. It will begin at 10:00 p.m. and be located at the Hilton Orlando, Lake Highland Room. east Coast operated out of Charlotte, North Carolina, and has now merged with Lee University.

All reunions are free to alumni.
