Sibleys Honored by Florida Church

On April 21, 2012, Church of God Secretary General Wallace J. Sibley, and his wife, Dorothy, were honored with a banquet celebration by the Eastside Church of God in Jacksonville, Florida.

Sibley, who is completing a four-year term as secretary general this July, received tributes from Florida Congresswoman Corrine Brown, Florida Governor Rick Scott, and mayor of Jacksonville, Florida, Alvin Brown.

According to Bishop Shade Herring, pastor of the Eastside Church of God, the highlight of the tributes were videos from executive committee members Raymond Culpepper, Tim Hill, and Mark Williams.

Also in attendance was Kenneth Hill, coordinator of Black Ministries for the Church of God.

Speaker for the banquet was Nathaniel Glover, president of Edwards College, where Sibley received his B.S. degree.

The event was held in the annex building of the new Mt. Bethel Missionary Church, where Dorothy Sibley’s brother, Dr. Robert Herring, is pastor. The event was sponsored by the Herring family and Dr. Charles E. Wilson.
