An Update from China
Thursday, 17 January 2008
Good news from Hainan, China! After two weeks of preparation, we held the first gathering in our new house church on December 30, 2007. More than 30 people came to the New Year celebration and enjoyed the dinner gathering. Throughout the celebration, as we sang many Chinese praise and worship songs, the good news of Jesus Christ was proclaimed to everyone. We pray the seeds that were planted in their hearts will grow and bear good fruit some day.
I clearly remember my prayer to God before I arrived in Hainan: “In six months, we’ll have 30 people to gather on Sunday.” Although it was the first time we used our new house church, God has already let us experience what will come in the future. God is working among us! In the past two weeks, He has guided us to the right place and helped us renovate the room, preparing for the gathering, etc. He truly blessed us and continues to bless us in everything we do!
Of course, we have had problems and will face more difficulties in the future. But God said, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9). This is all we need; God will use us to do great things in China!
Here in Hainan, China, we greet you warmly in the Lord. I personally miss everyone back in the Philippines and wish you and your family a happy New Year!
