Smokey Mountain Singlefest to Coincide with Smoky Mountain Kidfest
A new concept in singles ministry will take place May 16-18, 2008 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Open to all singles, this special event has also been planned to coincide with the Smoky Mountain Kidfest on the same weekend to allow for single parents of participating children to attend.
Registration will be Friday, May 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Park Vista Lobby. The cost is $30 for each single adult desiring to participate in the Singlefest event.. Children will need to be registered for the Kidfest event separately. That evening while the children are in the Grand Ballroom, the single parents will have their own special fellowship and worship time.
The registration for Smoky Mountain Kidfest includes the Kidfest sessions and lodging at the Park Vista Hotel.
Saturday morning, May 17 while the children are in their worship time in the Grand Ballroom, single parents who have registered for Singlefest are invited to an open-forum seminar where parents can discuss problems, offer answers, or give testimonies as a single parent. After the seminar, parents and their children are invited to spend the day together. Special arrangements have been made for a discount ticket to Dollywood amusement park in Pigeon Forge. Activities will conclude on Sunday, May 18 while the children are in their Kidfest worship time, the single parents will meet for a special devotional time in the Mountainview room.
Since statistics show that at least one half of the American population is now single, God is leading the church to do more to minister to this generation.
