April 10 Webcast to Feature Education Emphasis

The monthly webcast from General Overseer Raymond Culpepper, will spotlight the many facets of education in the Church of God.

The webcast is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, and will originate from the studios of Faith Productions at the Church of God International Offices. To access the live event, log on to www.churchofgod.org and click on the webcast link on the home page. Culpepper will moderate.

Scheduled to appear during the webcast will be Mark Williams, assistant general overseer and executive director of the Division of Education for the Church of God. Williams will address the state of education within the denomination, defining the many ways it has affected its history and offering a glimpse into the future.

Dr. Steve Land, president of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary will be a guest on the webcast as well and will share the progress and offerings of the Church of God’s doctoral degree-offering institution. Land has been president for over ten years and has launched new initiatives and degree programs, including the D.Min.

Also on tap will be the president of Lee University, Dr. Paul Conn. For the past 25 years, Conn has led the Church of God’s flagship educational institution. Since he took office in 1986, Lee University has quadrupled in size, both in student enrollment and campus size. Under Conn’s leadership, Lee has taken a place among the elites of Christian higher education. Academic offerings have jumped dramatically, including the establishment of masters programs, and new initiatives have been established which have set the example for other schools to emulate. More than two dozen new buildings have been built from the ground up, the latest being a $3 million chapel, which serves as the new central structure on Lee’s campus.

Although broadcast live, the webcast will be available on the web link as an archive document by the end of the week.
